Take it from me; the North East is blessed with numerous examples of businesses who have successfully adopted new digital technologies. Far from being flippant, I find such stories both hugely satisfying and equally inspirational. In recognition of these achievements, we at The North East Regional Portal (TNERP) have developed The North East Digital Awards.
Funded by regional development agency One NorthEast, the awards will celebrate the success of businesses within the digital arena, whether small or large scale. The North East Digital Awards website www.northeastdigitalawards.co.uk will be the basis for an interactive digital community, where visitors can show their support for registered businesses and vote for them in a variety of award categories.
So how do you go about registering your business with the website? Well, simply visit the site to obtain log-in details, and once registered just click âÂÂSubmit Entryâ and follow the prompts. Sound simple enough? You can then visit the site and cast votes for enterprise you feel is most deserving; those with the most votes will make the shortlist for review by a distinguished panel of judges.
The thinking behind this approach is to provide the winners (and all those shortlisted) with more than just a commemorative fountain pen! The âÂÂwinnersâ will receive prolonged exposure on the website; a great incentive and some invaluable kudos. WhatâÂÂs more, once the winners have been announced, the website will serve as an interactive database, allowing visitors to get the lowdown on all of the featured businesses and the services they offer.
We are very excited about these awards, and are eagerly anticipating a barrage of entries. After all, with so many fantastic businesses in the region embracing all that digital technologies have to offer, we certainly shouldnâÂÂt be short of potential winners!
Visit www.northeastdigitalawards.co.uk for more information and to view current entries.
