As a self employed bod I'm less effected by poor bank holiday weather but I have to say even by my standards we've had a crazy week. Putting in 56 hours in 4 days and then working through the bank holiday comes with the territory - so why would I? Well,my energy comes from the fact that I'm doing good things with great people and I'm at the age where I can resolve most problems that come my way
So if you want to know which ministers I've been working with read on, needless to say I've been backing church and state this Easter Week
The first Minister on Monday was Mr Phil Woolas who I met with my fellow Environment Agency chairs, I was impressed and indeed so was he as the group of chairs do have a range of backgrounds that when combined to our independence of mind makes for a useful regional view of the environment. The train back from London was cancelled but lucky the bargain advance ticket I had was usable on an earlier train.
So what else did my crazy week entail
* Tuesday NE-life, Team Valley to Judge YouTrade competition - giving IT lit to set up a business from home
* Wednesday morning back to do more judging and then on to NE-CC AGM near Morpeth in Northumberland where I heard the story of The Engineering Business Limited. Having sold out the company the day before the timing was superb - a powerful story which has many more links to farming than you might imagine - including Dr Tony Trapp's advice to employ farming folk!!
*Thursday - 4th early start of the week.....fantastic breakfast to celebrate St Cuthberts day with the CLA and Made in Northumberland backing the event at The White Swan in Alnwick and chef Richard Sim demonstrating to B & B owners how to make the best breakfasts from local produce.
Oysters in the morning..good job lent is coming round, giving up oysters for lent has a certain moorish ring about it!! Well done to the tourism partnership for pulling this event together. In the evening and rightly so a meeting of the procedures committee for St James's church Alnwick, the Minister had brought a number of us together so that when the newly renovated church is handed back to us from the builders in a few weeks time we have the correct health and safety and a 1001 other policy statements are set in place.
So all that and Defra's RPA actually rang back about about my single payment to explain why they can't process the payment?
In this Christian holiday with 'passion' being about pain and pleasure I can count seven different definitions of the word - in an area famous for its passionate people, passionate places. Well I've been through most of the definitions this week.
That was the week that was.....
