Bottled water is an icon of the modern world. On a wet December day in Northumberland the idea that water is a precious resource is perhaps a hard sell but believe me pure water will be depleted all around the world and become an even more precious resource. At a personal level I'm lucky, at Lee Moor we have a spring supply, a borehole which produces Natural Mineral Water to EU standards and mains fresh from Northumbrian Water.
The sale of Abbey Well to Coca-Cola has me thinking that maybe I should implement my first ever non-farming business idea some 16 ago!!
The Journal today suggests that Coca-Cola will be making redundancies in Morpeth.....a town that has had a watery series of disasters, perhaps this one also being simply a matter of when not if!
I invested at Lee Moor Farm in a borhole, a business plan, planning permission and the significant cost of having the water approved as a Natural Mineral Water and placed on an EU list in its Journal. Sadly it was decided there was no unique selling point for my water....but now with Waters and Robson Ltd selling to a multi-national I feel there is a mood around that might see a new sustainable bottler of Natural Mineral Water being encouraged.
So I use this blog - as only the internet can be used - to reach out to those with ideas....experience in the water bottling business looking for future employment and those with money to beat a path to my door and let's take a look at how they can serve a Northumberland Natural Mineral Water up in a sustainable way that helps the community where the rain fell.
I tell you I'm determined to make my fortune in this recession and frankly I believe if more businesses thought like that then we could put a calm centre in this financial hurricane right over the north east.....I dare you to believe that!
