I know this is my second blog but I thought I should really introduce myself.
This week I was given the privilege of becoming a blogger here. I have not been tasked with a subject to blog about; However I have a couple of ideas about what I would like to talk about. I don't want to preach and I don't want to populate the web with more garbage (we have enough cluttering up the internet as it is).
My name is James Mills and I am the senior developer at a web agency called Koodoo Creative, based in Stockton. We are a team who enjoy work and put as much effort into having fun as we do into our projects. I enjoy the excitement of working within an agency environment and sharing my experience with others in the industry. I have even setup a webcam so you can watch us working in the Koodoo pod.
I would love to hear from you if you're reading this blog so please pop along to my personal website www.jamesmills.co.uk or access a quick list of my contacts details at www.jamesmills.tel
The main focus of my blogs will be the news and events of Refresh Teesside. I will also share information about other creative industry events in the region, and probably harp on about other random things from time to time.
I feel there is a lot to learn from others and hopefully people will be interested in my knowledge and experience. To facilitate this there needs to be a tool to enable people to share information - this is where Refresh Teesside comes in. Agencies in our region are very guarded and cautious. This is quite acceptable at business level but the developers and creatives who keep the business running should be encouraged to take part in meet-ups. I hate the word networking and I would not put Refresh Teesside in the networking category, I like to call it a meet-up. It's not an event where people go to give out business cards and to try and source new business. It's a place for likeminded people to get together and share knowledge, put faces to names and have a little relaxed fun.
If you would like to get involved with Refresh Teesside then please join one of our groups
Super Mondays
This month I would like to share with you an event called Super Mondays which is more geared towards the IT people; however they regularly have speakers on web topics. Super Mondays is a strong and vibrant community of IT enthusiasts based in the North East of England. We meet up once a month for a range of IT user group meetings and some unstructured discussions. This month they have three speakers:

Rob Mathieson - How to get ã150,000 in 15 minutes
The event will take place in the Teaching Center at Newcastle University at 18:00 on Monday April 27th. More details can be found here on the Super Mondays website.
