Don't get hung up on hung parliament

The situation that businesses dreaded has become reality.
The Tories' failure to win the 326 seats needed for an outright election victory has resulted in a hung parliament and sparked a furious round of wheeler-dealing in an attempt to create a workable coalition.

Thinking Digital, the UK's answer to US conferences such as SXSW, TED and PoP!Tech returns to The Sage on 25 to 27 May.
It's shaping up as an annual event where 500 attendees gather to hear some of the world's greatest thinkers and innovators gather in Gateshead to hear inspiring talks and share the latest ideas and technologies.
Among the speakers for 2010 will be execs from Creative Commons, Futureworks, Ogilvy Group UK, Sony Pictures Digital and Wired UK.

Staff protest underlines fall-out from banking crisis

The Baked Snacks Company is yet again under fire for failing to pay its staff on time.
Workers have staged another blockade at the biscuit maker's premises at South Bank in attempt to force management into action.

Entrepreneurial duo spearheads creative industry meetups

A pair of young North East entrepreneurs has teamed up to bring informal Silicon Valley style meetup events to the North East.
Matt Moran and Stuart Howard created ThursdayFizz after seeing similar events for the creative and media industries work in London.
The format of ThursdayFizz simple. It aims to bring together the region's creative talent in a great venue with entertainment, food and a bar laid on.
